Josh Ritter is probably my favorite singer-songwriter, even if his latest offering,
So Runs the World Away, is not his strongest. He's one of the great poets among songwriters today, able to pair almost prolix lyrics with illuminating melodies that make them work. I'm constantly reminded of his literary ability with each listen.
So I was very intrigued to learn that Ritter has a novel coming out:
Bright's Passage. And what particularly intrigues me is this photo which accompanied the announcement: notice Ritter's novel is here set alongside a collection of Graham Greene novels. I'm hoping that's a good omen.
